Nourishing mornings for steady energy

Most of the “I crash at 10:30” stories we hear in clinic begin the same way: coffee first, food later, and a commute that ate the only quiet hour of the day. The morning plate is not a personality test. It is a tool for blood sugar, focus, and mood.

We ask people to build breakfast around three pieces: protein, fiber, and something you actually want to eat. Greek yogurt with berries and walnuts. Eggs with leftover vegetables and toast. Overnight oats with milk and nut butter. None of these require a new identity. They require ten extra minutes or a little prep the night before.

Pair the plate with a slower first hour when you can—water before the second coffee, daylight on your face, a phone that stays face-down until you have eaten. The combination is unglamorous and remarkably effective.

If mornings are chaotic because of kids, shifts, or medications, we map a “minimum viable breakfast” you can assemble half-asleep. Perfection is not the assignment. Repeating a decent plate most weekdays is.
